Bale on hot form
Spurs are enjoying their best Premier League campaign to date, courtesy of Gareth Bale's amazing performances. The Welsh winger has broken into the top 50 of the Castrol EDGE Rankings.
BALE ON HOT FORM
Tottenham Hotspur are riding high on a wave of positive results and are looking odds-on to secure a top 3 finish for the first time in their Premier League history. One of the main architects of this prominent rise is Gareth Bale (35th), the best climber in the top 50 of the Castrol EDGE Rankings last month. The Welsh winger is enjoying the most prolific league campaign of his career, with a return of nine goals and seven assists. His expertise will be called upon when Spurs travel to the Emirates on 26th February in one of the most crucial North-London derbies in years.
Bale has scored nine goals and delivered seven assists in the Premier League this season.

TOP PERFORMERS
Lionel Messi (1st) continues to lead the Castrol EDGE Rankings. In addition to his 44 goals and 17 assists in La Liga and Champions League over the last 12 months, the Barcelona magician has shown why even the hardest defenders can’t cope with his breathtaking talent by completing over 60 more dribbles than any other player across the top five European leagues.

Meanwhile, Robin van Persie (4th) is still the top performer in the Premier League, according to the Castrol EDGE Rankings. The Arsenal striker has netted 31 goals in 35 league games since February 2011, only Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have been more prolific during that period.

In Italy, Antonio Di Natale (11th) still dominates, according to the Castrol EDGE Rankings. The Udinese striker has netted 27 goals in 34 league games since February 2011 whilst also having more shots on target than any other player in Italy’s top flight.

In the Bundesliga, Mario Gomez (2nd) leads the way, according to the Castrol EDGE Rankings. Only three-times Ballon d’Or Lionel Messi has scored more Champions League goals (12) than Gomez (eight) since February last year.

Finally, in Ligue 1, Loïc Rémy (29th) keeps hold of top spot. Linked with Spurs last month, the France striker brings an extra aerial dimension that has attracted Premier League clubs – this season, no player has scored more headed goals in the top five European leagues (six).
